Dihydroorotate dehydrogenase
This structure is PDB:2PRL (shifted to correct numbering).
Mutation
A375S (wild type/mutant). It is unclear what the effect of this mutation is.
- This surface mutation is neutral and actually results in a new hydrogen bond (more stability).
- Nearby is K378 which can be ubiquitinated, but the mutation should not affect its operation.
- The transmembrane helix is close by. Consequently, it may affect the binding of DHODH to complex I or complex II, but the change is very mild, and the residue is surrounded by charged residues anyway.
